What Is Collision Course About?
The story takes place in Spain in 2013. Against the backdrop of an economic crisis, a group robs a bank in Madrid. However, an accident involving their getaway car turns the heist into a much bigger problem. Suddenly, lies and betrayals that began before the robbery start coming to light.
As a result, escaping becomes more complicated than simply finding a way out. The people involved must confront their fears, question their partners’ motives, and face the consequences of their decisions. According to the official synopsis, everyone is running from something beyond the possibility of prison.
That is what makes the premise compelling. When survival depends on other people, discovering their secrets can become just as dangerous as the crime itself.
Collision Course Cast and Characters
Laia Costa plays Carla Mencía, while Karra Elejalde portrays Pedro and Luis Zahera takes on the role of Ernesto. Meanwhile, Tamar Novas plays Tomás, Álvaro Cervantes appears as Raúl, and Lluís Homar portrays Luis.
The cast also includes Luz Valdenebro as Lola, Víctor Duplá as Pablo, and Jorge Cabrera as Turrientes. Together, these characters populate a story built around fragile alliances and motives that are not always clear.
Rather than relying solely on the robbery itself, the premise invites viewers to question the people behind it. Who is telling the truth, and who has something else to hide?
What Can You Expect From This Thriller?
Collision Course goes beyond showing how a robbery unfolds. According to its official description, the heist triggers a series of unpredictable events in which seemingly minor gestures can conceal important information. Consequently, the tension also comes from the difficulty of knowing whom to trust.
For viewers who enjoy developing theories as they watch, that setup offers plenty of intrigue. Instead of asking only who will escape, consider what each character seems willing to sacrifice.
Additionally, the director set out to combine action, suspense, intrigue, and unexpected twists. The film’s premise therefore draws on both the immediate dangers of the crime and the uncertainty surrounding its participants.
Behind the Scenes of Collision Course
The film’s original Spanish title is Colisión. According to Netflix, the project also marks Daniel Sánchez Arévalo’s first venture into the thriller genre. The filmmaker accepted the challenge after Ramón Campos invited him to explore a different direction in his career.
Besides directing, Sánchez Arévalo co-wrote the screenplay with Campos. Bambú Producciones produced the film, while Campos also served as executive producer. Their collaboration therefore extends from developing the story to bringing it to the screen.
