Hocus Pocus 2 on Disney Plus
Halloween came sooner than expected this year with a blast from the past! Almost 30 years after the original hit “Hocus Pocus”, the sequel returns! Someone has once again lit the Black Flame candle and resurrected the 17th century sisters, and they are out for revenge. Much like the original film, it’s up to a group of teenagers to stop the three witches from creating havoc in Salem before dawn on All Hallows’ Eve. “Hocus Pocus 2” reunites Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy to reprise their wicked roles as the Sanderson sisters.
The kid-friendly movie is great for audiences of all ages, so parents and grandparents alike should prepare to stream the original Halloween favorite on Disney+ as a much-needed update before streaming the new sequel. Which makes this release bittersweet for families, as unlike the original movie that opened in theaters, “Hocus Pocus 2” will go directly to streaming and skip the theatrical release.

Those with fond memories of going with their families to see the original will have to settle for watching the film at home, but the upside is that, because it doesn’t require a ticket, the film is more accessible to the masses upon release. While those who rented the film from a ‘Blockbuster’ or similar video store will have a more familiar feel. The sequel probably never would have been made if not for streaming technology, as the original flopped and became a cult classic after being released on video and network television.
