One of the most anticipated series of 2024 is the adaptation of the game Fallout. Produced by Prime Video, the series has already generated great excitement among fans.

After the success of The Last of Us, we all know that it is possible to transform a game into an appealing production even for those not familiar with the franchise. With Fallout, we expect nothing less.

The premiere of the new series is just around the corner! It’s time for you to discover everything and enjoy this great release to the fullest.

Fallout: Video Games

Fallout is a series of video games released in 1997 by the producer Bethesda. The first game was already a great success and started a franchise that today includes several versions and spin-offs.

The games are set in a post-apocalyptic world, offering a lot of adventure and action. The series follows this dystopian theme.

The most recent title released by the saga is Fallout 76, although, in the chronology of the story, it takes place at the beginning of everything. The last one in the chronology is Fallout 4.

Will the Fallout series be faithful to the games?

The series trailer shows familiar elements to fans, such as the Brotherhood of Steel and the Ghouls. The retro-futuristic atmosphere and exploration missions are highlights of the plot.

With Bethesda’s direct involvement in the production, it is expected that the series will indeed be faithful to the games’ universe, although it may not retell the already known story.

When does Fallout premiere?

Fallout premieres on Prime Video on April 11, with eight episodes.

What to expect from Fallout?

Just like in The Last of Us, it is not necessary to have played Fallout to enjoy the series. The producers guarantee that the series is for everyone, but fans of the franchise should enjoy it even more.

In an interview with Total Film, executive producer Jonathan Nolan revealed that the production is “almost like a Fallout 5,” suggesting an original story and not just a retelling:

“Each of the Fallout games is a distinct story, with a different city and protagonist within the same universe (…) our series relates to the games in the same way they relate to each other. It’s almost a Fallout 5. I don’t want to sound presumptuous, but it’s practically a non-interactive version, right?”

Official Synopsis

“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of those who have and those who don’t, in a world where there is almost nothing to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, a peaceful inhabitant of a pleasant shelter is forced to venture to the surface and is shocked to discover the devastated land that awaits her.”

Fallout’s production

Jonathan Nolan, brother of Christopher Nolan, is producing alongside Lisa Joy, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Graham Wagner, among others.

Ella Purnell, known for her role in Yellowjackets, plays Lucy, the optimistic and peaceful protagonist who is forced to go to the surface to rescue her father.

The cast also includes Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Moises Arias, Johnny Pemberton, Kyle MacLachlan, and others.
